This healthy vegan popsicles recipe is a go-to for fruit bars, cream bars, vitamin bars, every treat under the sun. 😋
Last time I was in the store and checked the price on organic popsicles, it was pretty dang high, and especially frustrating since supplies were limited—namely, fruit juice bars with very little actual fruit.
And don’t get me started on the ones made of artificial everything, like high fructose corn syrup, red 40, yellow 5, Carageenan, and other sketchy terms, such as ‘all natural ingredients.’
All natural what? 🤔
Anyway, there’s never been a better time to get a little picky about food, and one of the best ways to up the quality of what you eat is to make it yourself.
The good news is popsicles are super easy. They also rock every flavor under the sun!

Another reason to make your own popsicles from scratch is you won’t be sucking on some unknown water source. Most popsicles and ice creams are not made with filtered water.
If a water doesn’t state ‘filtered’ on the package, it’s typically not, and ditto for organics. Peeps that claim there’s little difference between organic and inorganic foods are turning a blind eye to sewage sludge, GMOs, PFAs, and pharmaceutical drugs.
They’re also a bit confused about their math these days, because everything adds up, and especially PFAs. They’re called ‘forever chemicals’ for good reason. They tend to stay onboard. While organics, on the other hand, have much much less.
And when it comes to cost, it’s honestly about how you shop. Where I live, the health food stores and grocers have sales and discount bins that sport organics. Online markets like Thrive offer price matching, reasonable costs, and consumer gifts. And good old fashioned coupons never hurt.
Here’s what you’ll need (full recipe below):
Equipment
- Blender.
- Ice trays.
- Colander.
- Flatware/cutlery.
- Cutting board.
- Knife set.
- Popsicle mold.
- Popsicle sticks.
- Kitchen cloth.
- Paper towels.
One of the first things to know about making popsicles is how easy it is. It all comes down to blended drinks like smoothies or homemade juice. You create the flavor and texture you want before you mold and freeze.
In this recipe I’m making organic berry cream popsicles with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and protein powder, but you can always mix it up. You can go for icy with juice, water, or ice in lieu of ice cream or yogurt.
And by the way, I don’t mix berries with bananas much anymore. A study showed that pairing bananas with certain flavanol foods like berries significantly reduces the benefits you get, crushing nutrients by up to 84%.
It’s also worth noting that chocolate and coffee popsicles rock. The workable smoothie recipes for those are at the end of this post. 🍫 ☕ 🤎

Another thing I love about this recipe is it rocks with protein powders and nootropics. For a one-two punch I add superfoods to the liquid and it freezes just fine.
For a list of stellar vegan protein powders go here.
It’s also easy to taste test your popsicles in advance by sampling the liquid before you mold. That way you can make adjustments while adding whole fruits, nuts, and other embellishments.
When it comes to popsicle molds, nontoxic silicon is good (linked here). I personally suggest ditching plastic at all costs.
Another thing you can do is use biodegradable cups. Once they’re partially molded in the freezer, insert the sticks or use spoons.
Instructions
Add the ingredients to a blender:
- Filtered water ice
- Plant milk
- Yogurt or ice-cream.
- Frozen berries.
- Vanilla extract.
- Stevia and salt
- Protein powder.
- Blend for about eight seconds or to desired consistency.
- Add any whole fruits or other treats you want and pour the liquid into the mold.

If you’re in a rush, you can just pour organic juice into the molds. I’m also a fan of sweet green juice popsicles. 💚
For vitamin C pops, add a capsule of vitamin C to the blend, or a packet of Emergen-C for a heftier dose.
