Vegan Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
Though most of what I eat is typically organic, it’s especially key to source certified organic strawberries for smoothies. The reason that’s important is because strawberries are one of the most heavily sprayed crops.
According to one report, “On average, 300 pounds of pesticides are applied to every acre of strawberries (compared to an average of 25 pounds per acre for other foods).”
They also made the top 12 Dirty Dozen List again in 2024.
Organic Food Benefits
- Organic foods cannot be grown with synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or sewage sludge.
- Organic foods cannot be genetically engineered or irradiated.
- Organic foods cannot contain synthetic growth hormones or antibiotics.
In addition, studies have shown that organics are more nutrient-dense with higher levels of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and flavonoids.
Ingredients
- Filtered ice.
- Plant milk.
- Strawberries.
- Stevia.
- Pink salt.
- Protein powder.
- Vegan yogurt or ice cream.
Fresh Vegan Strawberry Smoothie
Using raw organic stevia instead of sugar in smoothies is healthier and doesn’t hijack your blood sugar. Sweeteners that cause glucose spikes promote weight gain, cravings, and more.
Other low-glycemic sweeteners include xylitol, monk fruit, and agave.

Vegan Strawberry Protein Smoothie
Equipment
Ingredients
- 11/4 cups filtered water ice.
- 1/1/3 cups plant milk.
- 1/3 cup vegan yogurt. (frozen)
- 1/3 cup vegan ice cream. (either yogurt or ice cream)
- 1 1/2 cups strawberries. (fresh or frozen)
- 1/1/2 tsp stevia.
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
- 1/4 tsp pink salt.
- 1 scoop protein powder.
Instructions
- Add the ingredients in the following order:
- Ice.
- Nut milk.
- Yogurt or ice cream.
- Strawberries.
- Vanilla extract.
- Stevia and salt.
- Protein powder.
- Blend until smooth or to desired consistency. If you use frozen strawberries 'and' frozen yogurt or ice cream, you may have to adjust the consistency with more plant milk or reduce some of the frozen items.
Notes
- I’ve found that Now Better Stevia Organic Extract Powder is the only brand that’s potent enough at the above quantity. If you use another brand you’ll need to add a lot more stevia to equal the same sweetness.
